Finance Research Letters

The China Economic Review publishes original works of scholarship which add to the knowledge of the economy of China and to economies as a discipline. We seek, in particular, papers dealing with policy, performance and institutional change. Empirical papers normally use a formal model, a data set, and standard statistical techniques. Submissions are subjected to double-blind peer review.

A broad-based professional and international journal publishing theoretical and empirical papers. Being the official journal of the European Economic Association, it also reflects the trends in European research and publishes papers of relevance to European problems.

The International Review of Economics & Finance (IREF) is a quarterly journal devoted to the publication of high-quality theoretical and empirical papers, on all aspects of economics and finance.

IREF seeks rigorous papers that deal with contemporary economic and financial issues faced by national, regional, and global economics.

IREF is a double blind refereed journal published by Elsevier and contains a book review section.

The journal encourages the application of economic theory to the explanation of accounting phenomena. It provides a forum for the publication of the highest quality manuscripts which employ economic analyses of accounting problems.

The Journal of Asian Economics provides a forum for publication of increasingly growing research in Asian economic studies and a unique forum for continental Asian economic studies with focus on (i) special studies in adaptive innovation paradigms in Asian economic regimes, (ii) studies relative to unique dimensions of Asian economic development paradigm, as they are investigated by researchers, (iii) comparative studies of development paradigms in other developing continents, Latin America and Africa, (iv) the emerging new pattern of comparative advantages between Asian countries and the United States and North America, and (v) the emerging economic dimensions following the one-currency based European Economic Community and the new economic reforms in Soviet Union and in Eastern European Countries.

Publishes only original quality manuscripts (theoretical and empirical) on the contractual arrangements that govern firms, including financial contracts, corporate governance structures, and business contracts.

Places primary emphasis on the highest-quality analytical, mathematical, and empirical contributions in the following major areas: consumption and investment decisions under uncertainty; portfolio analysis; theories of market equilibrium; the dynamic behavior of asset prices in the financial and real sectors and the concept of `efficient markets' and `random walks' relationship between the financial and real sectors; corporate financial management.

Recent years have seen an explosion of interest among academics in the design of financial contracts and institutions, spurred primarily by the development of information economics and option pricing. The Journal of Financial Intermediation collects and stimulates research in this area, stressing the use of contemporary analytical and empirical tools.

The Journal of Financial Markets will publish high quality original research on applied and theoretical issues related to securities trading and pricing. Area of coverage includes the analysis and design of trading mechanisms, optimal order placement strategies, the role of information in securities markets, financial intermediation as it relates to securities investments - for example, the structure of brokerage and mutual fund industries, and analyses of short and long run horizon price behaviour. The journal will strive to maintain a balance between theoretical and empirical work, and will aim to provide prompt and constructive reviews to paper submitters.

The purpose of the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money is to publish rigorous, original articles dealing with the international aspects of financial markets, institutions and money. Theoretical/conceptual and empirical papers providing meaningful insights into the subject areas such as: international securities markets, eurocurrency markets, international syndications, international monetary systems, central bank intervention, international investment banking, and determination of exchange rates, will be considered.

Journal of the Japanese and International Economies publishes original reports of research devoted to academic analyses of the Japanese economy and the interdependence between the Japanese economy and other national economies. The Journal also features articles that present related theoretical, empirical, or comparative analyses and their policy implications. A section for book reviews is also included.

The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance (QREF) attracts and publishes high quality manuscripts that cover topics in the areas of economics, financial economics and finance. The subject matter may be theoretical, empirical or policy related. Emphasis is placed on quality, originality, clear arguments, persuasive evidence, intelligent analysis and clear writing. At least one Special Issue is published per year. These issues have guest editors, are devoted to a single theme and the papers have well known authors. In addition we pride ourselves in being able to provide three to four article "Focus" sections in most of our issues. These "Focus" sections have a common theme, may or may not have a guest editor, and often contain papers that were presented in a session at a regional, national or international meeting. These can be published in a very timely manner. Finally, QREF is the journal of the Midwest Economic Association. At least two members are chosen by this organization to serve on the editorial board. The editors of QREF place special efforts into working with young authors.
