The journal is devoted to publishing research in the field of labour economics both on the microeconomic and on the macroeconomic level, in a balanced mix of theory, empirical testing and policy applications.

Land Use Policy is concerned with the social, economic, political, legal, physical and planning aspects of urban and rural land use. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information from the diverse range of disciplines and interest groups which must be combined to formulate effective land use policies.

Concerned with conceptual, scientific, and design approaches of land use. Emphasizing the need for ecological understanding of the multi-disciplinary and interrelated problems posed by nature and human use of land.

Publishes contributions from researchers in all fields relevant to the study of verbal and non-verbal communication. By focusing attention on the many ways in which language is integrated with other forms of communicational activity and interactional behaviour, it is intended to explore ways of developing a science of communication which is not restricted by existing disciplinary boundaries.

Emphasizes the investigation of language from extra-linguistic perspectives in a broad sense and favours articles on a wider variety of topics, including pragmatics and functionalism (especially where rooted in observational data), typology, applied linguistics, and subdisciplines such as sociolinguistics.

Learning and Instruction welcomes research papers and review articles on the processes of learning, development, instruction, and teaching from infants to adults representing a variety of theoretical perspectives, and different methodological approaches. Contributions relate to all age levels - from infants to adults - and to a diversity of settings, such as the classroom, vocational training, and environments for special educational needs.
