Publishes research reports, rapid communications, review articles and commentaries that examine: (a) molecular aspects of cytotoxicity, carcinogenesis, mutagenesis and teratogenesis; (b) molecular mechanisms by which drugs exert their therapeutic or toxic effects.

An international journal publishing results of studies concerning toxic effects of (human and veterinary) drugs and environmental contaminants in man and animals. Areas of special interest are: molecular mechanisms of toxicity, biotransformation and toxicokinetics (including toxicokinetic modelling), molecular, biochemical and physiological mechanisms explaining differences in sensitivity between species and individuals, the characterisation of pathophysiological models and mechanisms involved in the development of effects and the identification of biological markers that can be used to study exposure and effects in man and animals.

The international multidisciplinary journal is devoted to the publication of studies covering the whole range of experimental research on disease processes and toxicology including cell biological investigations.

Publishes complete research papers in all areas of mutation research which focus on fundamental mechanisms underlying phenotypic and genotypic expression of genetic damage, molecular mechanisms of mutagenesis including the relationship between genetic damage and its manifestation as hereditary diseases and cancers as well as aging.

Publishes complete papers in the field of genetic toxicology, focusing on genotoxicity testing of specific chemical or physical agents, in silico, in vitro, or in vivo; the isolation and chemical characterization of novel environmental mutagens; the measurement of genotoxic effects in human populations, particularly in the context of well-characterized environmental or occupational exposures; the development, evaluation, validation, and improvement of assay systems; and the assessment of health risks resulting from genotoxic exposures.

Publishes reviews on the relationship between mutation and disease, technologies for mutation detection and functional genomics, molecular mechanisms of mutagenesis, clinical genetics, genetic toxicology, and health risk assessment. The "Reflections" feature publishes reviews of historically important events in the field of mutagenesis and updating such events to the present to see what impact that event has had on current science.

Neurotoxicology & Teratology is the leading source for researchers studying neural toxicity, one of the most quickly growing areas of environmental health. The journal publishes original, peer reviewed studies that cover the developmental and adult neurotoxicity of pesticides, drugs of abuse, pharmaceuticals, solvents, heavy metals, organometals, general industrial-use compounds, marine and plant toxins, atmospheric reaction compounds, and physical agents such as radiation and noise.

A multidisciplinary forum for research letters in all areas of toxicology, the prime aim being rapid publication. Topics include clinical, occupational and safety evaluation, legal, risk and hazard assessment, impact on man, and environment studies.
